I visited the orphanage on July 10, 2010 with the Overseas Adventure Travel group. I would like to send lots of clothes, toys and school supplies to the children. Please let me know of any restrictions.

I’m working on a school project to raise either money or supplies (depending on what is needed) for the orphanage. I was wondering what the current needs are and any suggestions to make sure I am helping as much as I can. I am interested in learning more about your work. Will be coming to Lhasa in July 2010. How many children are being helped? What are the current needs? Do they receive any religious training? May God bless you for your work and all the children that you serve!

Dear Meryl,

Thank you for your visit to the guestbook. It is quite costly to send boxes to the orphanage. Whenever I visit I bring along extra luggage with sunblock lotion and clothes for the children. Also, during my last visit to Lhasa Amala took me shopping for shoes for the children. They get discounts at the supporting stores and it is much easier and cheapier to supply them with stuff. If you would like to make a donation, you can use the bank account that you can find in the help section. I send the donations to them with moneywire whenever the amount is big enough. Thanks again for your support.

Hello! I have had a trip booked from December 2009 – January 2010, but because of work circumstances must push the trip back to at least spring 2010.
However, I would love to come and visit when I do make the trip and I would love to donate items and funds from my family this winter! Can you send me some examples of items that the kids would like?

it’s a year now since I visited the orphanage. I see now that the project with the instant-camera’s are completed. The results are beautifull. What a joy to see that a small effort can do great things.

I am organising a trip to Tibet in July and would like to include a “service” element for my clients. Would it be possible and useful to visit the orphanage and help out for a day? What could we bring that you need that would help?

We had such a warm welcome to the orphanage during our recent visit in May 2009. The children seem very happy, and were excited to sing songs for the visitors as well as take us for hand-held tours of their facility. We inquired about adoption, and unfortunately the government does not currently allow adoption from private orphanages, and only to Chinese parents from public ones in Tibet. We would love to have that change someday! Until then we’ll send our support to our daughter’s Tibetan ’sister’.
